Our projects:
15% of our profit is destined to struggle against illiteracy and develop the local economy. In fact, working closely with local associations, we support local projects in different fields: Education, craft industry, agriculture and Health.

Agriculture:
The fertile valley of Ait Bouguemez allows the Berber tribes to cultivate a large variety of crops. But this natural agriculture is facing competition from industrial agriculture. So, our main aim, in partnership with the valley’s associations, is to help the small farmers to safeguard this natural activity and overcome the overwhelming competition coming from the industrial farmers.
Our project for the three next years is to construct irrigation canals.
Our long term project is to distribute micro-credits to motivate poor families wishing to create and develop a project in agriculture or breeding activity. The profit would be divided between the entrepreneur and associations which will utilise it in financing other projects.

Agriculture

Education:
The schooling rate in “Happy Valley” is among the lowest in the Kingdom. The illiteracy rate is particularly high for girls.
Our associations are already active in struggling against illiteracy. “Free Spirit Limited” will invest in supporting all effort aiming to educate illiterate villagers.
Our mission is focused on three actions:

  1. Constructing libraries and providing books, computers and others means to learn.
  2. Providing poor families’ scholars with school requisites.
  3. Constructing apprenticeship centres for women.

Education

Craft Industry:
It's one of the main activities of the “Happy Valley”. In fact, women are weaving djellabas, carpets, etc. However, this activity is limited to support their families as they have no means to make it a source of income. In partnership with local associations, we plan to help those women by creating a cooperative, providing materials and help to commercialize its products.

Health:
A hospital had been constructed since 1990 in Ait Ouchi village but closed a decade ago. Our mission is to restore this small building and ask the Moroccan government and International Associations of solidarity to help us to put it on service/functioning and ensure basic medical care to villagers. We are starting talks with the Moroccan administration but we need support from humanists and associations to struggle against sickness and poverty in order to help this valley live up to the name “happy”.
